Good for beginning students of sustainable agriculture/5(17). The reason I got this book was its great keys to soil-dwelling invertebrates. It has very thorough keys even to obscure groups, at least to family level and sometimes to species level! It is much more in-depth than the simple "Soil Biology Guide" name implies. It was written in , so it is not yet out of date. Soil Biology brings together the microbiological, botanical, and zoological aspects of soil biology. The book also discusses the soil algae, including how algae are affected by physical and chemical environments and their interrelations with other organisms. The remaining chapters look at other organisms that inhabit the soil, including.
